Family Oral History Project
Do you have a story that you love to pass down to your children and your children’s children? A story about a person or event that made its mark on you and your family and you’d like to preserve it? Something funny, or poignant, or maybe historically consequential outside your family. Two award-winning filmmakers will work with you to capture that story in an oral history production: your words as you tell the story, and images (stills or videos) you provide to create another layer to the project.
H.D. Motyl and Mark Stoffel, co-producers of In the Shadow: the 2017 Solar Eclipse, will work with you in the presentation of your story, can coach you in your storytelling, videotape you in our studios (with suitably flattering lighting), and professionally edit into a family historical document. Length is limited to 15 minutes, and completion date is April 2026. A high-resolution digital copy will be delivered to you upon completion, after your approval of the final edit.
